Neolux Day Date – Automatic Watch with Day and Date Display
The Neolux Day Date is the functionally extended version of the Neolux. In addition to the time, it displays both the day of the week and the date on the dial – both simultaneously and directly legible.
The case of this timepiece measures 42 mm, and the design follows the same modern, sleek approach as the Neolux – reduced, clean, and without decorative excess.
The Movement: Miyota 8205-3SE
It features the Miyota 8205-3SE – a Japanese automatic caliber by the Citizen Group with an integrated day-date function. It displays the day of the week and the date via separate windows, winds itself through the movement of the wrist, and can be wound manually via the crown if required. The power reserve is around 42 hours – if you take the watch off over the weekend, you will find it still running on Monday. The accuracy is between -20 and +40 seconds per day, which is within the normal range for a Japanese automatic movement.
Case and Materials
The case and steel bracelet are made of hypo-allergenic 316L stainless steel – robust, corrosion-resistant, and easy to wear even on sensitive skin. The sapphire-coated mineral crystal protects against scratches from jewelry, work surfaces, or hard surfaces in everyday life. The anti-reflective coating on the inside ensures good legibility even with direct light incidence.
Who is the Neolux Day Date the Right Choice For?
For anyone looking for an automatic watch with a modern design and a full calendar display. Anyone who wants to know first thing in the morning what day and date it is without checking their phone gets both at a single glance. This makes the Day Date the more practical choice for everyday life compared to the Neolux – for everyone who uses the added value of the extra display daily.
Strap Options
The Neolux Day Date is available in a wider selection of strap materials than most other models in the range. The leather strap gives the watch warmth and emphasizes its dress watch character. The stainless steel mesh strap looks lighter and more modern. The articulated Steel Link bracelet gives more substance and presence. Furthermore, the Neolux Day Date is also available with a strap made from recycled PET material – an option for anyone who prioritizes sustainability when choosing materials, without having to resort to a product that looks sporty or unfinished. All straps can be changed without tools.
Automatic in the Era of Smartwatches
The Neolux Day Date is an analog model with no connection to a smartphone, no display, and no notifications. An automatic movement that winds itself through kinetic energy is the technological opposite of a smartwatch – and deliberately so. In a product category increasingly dominated by displays and operating systems, this is a distinct statement – not a nostalgic one, but a conscious one.
