Size & Fit

Fit Category of these Sunglasses: Regular-Wide Fit

Fit Table:

Fit Category Lens-Bridge Size (mm) Total Frame Width (mm) Who is it for?
Narrow Fit ≤48 - 22 ≤118 Small face shapes. Sits snugly without slipping.
Regular-Narrow Fit 49-21 to 50-23 119–122 Slim faces; small face comfort with a bit more room.
Regular Fit 51-20 to 53-22 123–127 Balanced, true-to-size for most face shapes.
Regular-Wide Fit 54-18 to 55-21 128–130 Broader faces; slightly oversized on standard faces.
Wide Fit 56-19 to 58-23 ≥131 Broad faces; extra oversized for a bold statement look.

How to find your ideal Fit:

1. Measure your current glasses

  • Look at a pair that fits you well.
  • Check the numbers inside the temple (e.g., 52-20 means 52 mm lens width and 20 mm bridge width).

2. Compare with our size guide

  • Match your lens and bridge measurements with the ranges in the table above.

3. Consider the fit style

  • Oversized frames: Pick one size larger than your usual fit. 5–8 mm wider than your normal size can still work.
  • Traditional fit: Choose a frame that matches your measurements exactly.

4. Adjusting the temples

  • The temples (arms) of your glasses can be manually adjusted for comfort.
  • Visit an independent optician to ensure your sunglasses sit perfectly on your face.

    Tinting

The black tint is even stronger than shown in the picture, otherwise workmanship is good.

Frequently asked questions

Which sunglasses models are suitable for narrow faces?

For narrow faces, look for a narrow or regular-narrow fit with a total frame width of around 118–122 mm. As a general guide, lens sizes up to 48 mm with a 22 mm bridge are suitable for the narrowest fits, while 49–50 mm lenses with a 21–23 mm bridge offer a little more room. The frame should sit comfortably on your face without extending noticeably beyond your temples or slipping down your nose.

Which sunglasses models are suitable for wide faces?

For wide faces, look for a regular-wide or wide fit with a total frame width of around 128 mm or more. As a general guide, lens sizes from 54–55 mm with an 18–21 mm bridge offer a wider fit, while 56–58 mm lenses with a 19–23 mm bridge provide extra room for broader faces. The frame should sit comfortably without pressing at the temples or feeling too narrow across the bridge of your nose.

Which eye protection do Lilienthal Sunglasses offer?

All of our sunglasses feature 100% UV 400 protection to completely block harmful, invisible UVA and UVB rays. Combined with Category 2 or 3 filter ratings, they provide optimal brightness control and high visual clarity, whether you are dealing with moderate sunlight or bright, high-glare environments.

Are these sunglasses suitable for driving, hiking, or other activities?

Yes, all of our sunglasses feature Category 2 or 3 lenses with 100% UV 400 protection and an anti-reflective (AR) coating, making them ideal for active outdoor use and daily driving:

• Category 2 (Medium Tint): Excellent for medium sunlight and normal driving conditions.
• Category 3 (Dark Tint): Perfect for high-glare environments like bright sunny days, hiking, water sports, and skiing.

Both categories are fully road-safe and approved for behind-the-wheel use.

Which materials are used for the sunglasses?

All of our sunglasses are designed to provide maximum eye safety, visual clarity, and glare reduction through high-performance lens technology:

UV 400 Protection: Blocks 100% of invisible, damaging UVA and UVB rays to ensure complete long-term eye health.

Filter Ratings (Category 2 & 3): Offers optimal brightness control and glare reduction, adapted for everything from moderate daylight to bright, sunny outdoor conditions.

Anti-Reflective (AR) Coating: Premium rear-side coating prevents distracting backside reflections from entering your eye, ensuring distortion-free vision.

What does bio-based acetate mean?

Bio-based acetate is an eco-friendly, phthalate-free alternative to standard plastics, crafted from renewable plant sources like cotton fibers and wood pulp. Instead of relying on petroleum-based plasticizers, it utilizes plant-based alternatives to create a flexible, durable frame with a significantly reduced environmental footprint.

Because the material is naturally dyed, the frames absorb rich, deep color tones with a visual warmth and vibrancy superior to synthetic options, while offering the exact same premium durability, weather resistance, and color fastness as traditional acetate.

What makes sunglasses be “Sustainable”?

Sustainable sunglasses are designed to minimize environmental impact across their entire life cycle:

Eco-Friendly Materials: Utilizing plant-based materials like bio-acetate or recyclable metals significantly reduces reliance on fossil fuels and petroleum plastics.

Built for Longevity: High-quality, durable frames and impact-resistant lenses extend the product lifespan, preventing premature disposal and landfill waste.

Responsible Production & Packaging: Ethical manufacturing practices paired with minimalist, zero-waste, or recycled packaging further lower the carbon footprint.

Is it possible to order the sunglasses with prescription?

Unfortunately, we do not provide that service. It is possible to independently add small prescriptions with an independent optician, although certain high prescriptions often don’t fit the lens rim, due to it being thinner than what optical glasses require. Sunglasses with a flatter (smaller) base curve handle prescriptions better. Our glasses feature a relatively flat base curve (Base 4), making them well-suited for custom fitting, though checking directly with an optician is the only way to be completely sure if your specific prescription will work.
