When it comes to durability, Stainless Steel is a particularly robust choice, offering excellent resistance to water, sweat, and everyday wear. However, each material has its own strengths: Textile is more flexible and highly resistant to tearing, while scratches and minor surface wear are often less noticeable on fabric. Mesh combines flexibility with breathable strength. Leather and cork offer natural resilience and can maintain their durability with proper care.

Which strap material is the most comfortable for sensitive skin?

All our straps are designed with comfort in mind. Our Stainless Steel and Mesh straps are made from Stainless Steel 316L (Allergy-neutral) and are completely Nickel-free. For a softer touch, our Leather and Textile straps are lightweight, breathable, and paired with Nickel-free buckles.

Can I wear my mesh strap for running or during my daily workout?

Mesh is sweatproof and highly breathable, making it comfortable for running or light movement. However, the fine weave is vulnerable to snagging on gym equipment. Be sure to rinse it after sweaty activities and gently brush the micro-gaps dry.

When wearing a mesh strap for workouts, keep in mind that the watch head itself also has specific care requirements: while quartz watches are generally resistant to movement like jogging or running, it is better to avoid jogging with automatic watches, as the intense mechanical shock and vibrations can damage their internal parts.

Additionally, you should always take your watch off for high-impact sports or any activities where the case or glass could be heavily scratched or shattered.

Is the mesh strap suitable for swimming in the pool or the ocean?

While the stainless steel mesh itself is water-resistant, we advise against swimming in pools or the ocean with 5 ATM or 10 ATM watches to protect the watch head. Furthermore, pool chlorine and ocean salt can easily become trapped in the fine mesh gaps if not thoroughly rinsed with fresh water immediately.

Can I wear my mesh strap in the sauna, or do heat and humidity affect it?

The woven design provides excellent airflow and the metal is unaffected by humidity. However, you should not wear it in the sauna, as the extreme heat and humidity can damage the watch head's internal seals and mechanism.

What is the best way for cleaning and washing my mesh strap?

For routine care, always rinse your stainless steel mesh strap with fresh water immediately after exposure to heavy sweat, pool chlorine, or saltwater to prevent chemical buildup.

For a deeper washing, prepare a warm, soapy solution with a mild dish detergent, dip a soft-bristled brush (like a toothbrush), and gently brush along the woven surface to remove trapped dust, lotions, and dead skin cells from the micro-gaps. Be careful to avoid applying heavy pressure or bending the mesh tightly, and always let it air-dry completely flat to preserve its smooth shape.

What should I do if my mesh strap becomes discoloured or dull?

Stainless steel mesh won't get permanently discoloured or lose its metallic finish on its own, but daily accumulation of body oils, hand lotions, and microscopic dirt can settle into the fine woven gaps, making the metal look dark or dull over time. A thorough wash using warm water and mild dish soap, paired with gentle scrubbing from a soft-bristled brush, will completely lift these trapped residues and restore its original mirror-like brightness.

Note: For models featuring a specialized colored finish (such as PVD-coated black, gold, or rose gold), always avoid stiff bristles, abrasive scrubbing pads, and harsh chemical cleaners entirely. While our surface platings are crafted to high-quality standards, avoiding aggressive cleaning tools ensures the vibrant colored finish remains pristine and protected over years of wear.

Is it easy to adjust the length of the mesh strap myself?

Yes, it is very simple to adjust at home! A mesh bracelet can be adjusted via a sliding clasp: simply insert a small flat tool or pin into the small opening on the clasp to lift the locking lever, slide the buckle along the mesh band to your exact wrist size, and snap the lever back down firmly to lock it securely in place.

Are all the straps compatible with my watch?

Not all straps are universally compatible out-of-the-box, as compatibility depends on matching the correct width dimensions (such as 20mm or 22mm) to your watch case.
